Evolving the Webflow Marketplace for scale
Role: Independent UX/UI Design Consultant (Webflow Marketplace)
Client: Webflow
Scope: UX design, interaction design, stakeholder collaboration
The Webflow Marketplace had grown rapidly, but core discovery patterns and workflows hadn’t evolved at the same pace. The team needed to ship meaningful updates that improved clarity, usability, and scalability — while still serving a highly opinionated, expert user base.
These updates were also being publicly showcased at Webflow Conf 2024, which raised the bar for quality, polish, and narrative clarity.
As an Independent UX/UI Design Consultant, I was responsible for the UX/UI design and Webflow implementation work shown in the Marketplace updates.
My responsibilities included:
- Designing and implementing Marketplace UX improvements
- Translating high-level product goals into concrete interface changes
- Building and refining Webflow components used for experimentation and rollout
- Designing interactions and motion to support clarity rather than novelty
Although the walkthrough video was produced and presented by Webflow, the design and implementation work featured is my own.

The work emphasized clarity over novelty. Rather than introducing unnecessary complexity, I focused on identifying friction points in Marketplace discovery and navigation, simplifying workflows, and designing interaction patterns that guided users through complex information more intuitively. A key priority was ensuring that new patterns would scale as the Marketplace continued to grow. I designed and implemented scalable components directly in Webflow, enabling experimentation while maintaining performance and maintainability. Interaction and motion were used intentionally to reinforce hierarchy, draw attention to meaningful changes, and support comprehension without distracting from core tasks. Throughout the process, I balanced platform constraints, power-user expectations, and long-term extensibility. The updates were ultimately featured as part of Webflow Conf 2024, serving as a public demonstration of the Marketplace’s evolution. Feedback from the Webflow community highlighted improved clarity and usability, more thoughtful interaction design, and a more cohesive Marketplace experience overall. This project reflects how I approach platform-level consulting work: pairing UX judgment with hands-on execution to deliver improvements that are practical, scalable, and aligned with long-term product growth.
