Komora - National documentary brand and campaign

Komora is an award-winning documentary film that I co-directed and produced, and for which I also led the entire brand identity and outreach campaign. The project required not only strong storytelling, but a cohesive creative and promotional strategy capable of carrying the film to national audiences and respected cultural platforms. Produced early in my career, this work reflects foundational experience in creative direction and large-scale distribution.
Beyond filmmaking, Komora was a full creative endeavor under my ownership. In addition to co-directing and producing the film, I designed the visual identity, created promotional assets, and led outreach and campaign strategy to support broadcast, press, and institutional distribution. This included aligning the film’s narrative with a credible, emotionally resonant brand presence suitable for national and cultural audiences.
The approach integrated storytelling, design, and distribution. I developed a cohesive brand identity that reflected the film’s themes and tone, produced trailers and campaign materials, and executed an outreach strategy tailored to broadcasters, press, and cultural organizations. Rather than treating promotion as an afterthought, the campaign was designed to amplify the film’s impact and legitimacy across both digital and traditional channels.

Komora aired nationally on PBS World, significantly expanding its reach and visibility. The film was also awarded the Special Jury Award for Documentary Shorts at the Houston International Film Festival, one of the festival’s top honors. In addition, Komora received coverage and recognition from organizations and outlets including National Geographic Radio, the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Holocaust Museum, and Human Rights Watch, among others. This project represents my ability to lead complex creative work end-to-end — from concept and execution to brand positioning and distribution. It reflects an early but formative example of how I combine storytelling, design, and strategic outreach to drive real-world impact at scale.
